Today on the LA freeway, 6 lanes of traffic, bass thumping I smile as I look into my rearview mirror and see the entire world distorting in time with the fractured beats of my car. As the mirror vibrates with the rhythm and the world's images bleed into one, i am satisfied by the visual presentation of the disequillibrium I encounter each day in this post-modern existence.

"Why isnt there a superhero tune you know why isnt there this big expansive super hero tune? The reason is that, once you have a super hero tune, you've set them apart from humanity because there are no super heros. Batman is just the normal kind of guy, hes super but he's doing what we would like to do."

At home
the wind blows warm
fog
little lamb-dogs bleet
in my ear'in mornin'
33-8
Helen is 15 and she can't think straight.
lil sis whrilwhind of long blonde hair and smirks.
the dog is tore up.
got cut open by the vet and has stitches.
The clouds create stark contrast in blue sky.
I worry for my mother's health.

She is surrounded by old prayers
memories surreal
hum black and white melodies
echo vibrates the web
the rain drops dance upon water.
Reflect
All the while, cyncical ghosts knit lace
into the night.

Pink Guilt, the film
Feb. 7th, 2008 | 10:43 pm
I got an e-mail today from one of the actors I worked with this summer in Paris. His name is Alonso. He said that he uploaded the film that I directed him in to youtube. Here is the link to the film.

It's really not my best work, and I don't show it to very many people. It was really challenging to make, and there are some things that really frusturate me about it. But I thought i'd take advantage of the fact that it is now on youtube to be brave and show it to some of my friends for their amusement!

So I see that in my last entry i cited my location as "on the floor by the heater". And now I find myself writing, ready to post from that same location, but the truth is that I am by a different heater, and that is the point of this post. I am back at Mills, yes. And happily situated on my beautiful new righ which was in the living room of my parents' house but is now mine. I am listening to some song by Orbital and keep hallucinating that it is my cell phone ring. I seriously think that the tone must have been inspired by this song.
I went to Advaned Editing Lab at the art school again tonight, and made friends with a stylish gay boy named Oscar. He just got back from a film study abroad in Paris and so we share that in common; we kiss goodbye on both cheeks and say ciao, its cute. I am proud of myself for getting my room so well organized. It is nice. But i am still not ready to go to all *4* classes tomarrow!!! And i have even less of an idea of what I'm going to wear.
My dad told me on the phone tonight that the state of California is headed towards a giant deluge of rain. It is going to rain on and off for eight days straight and totally soalk the entire state. I promised him that i'd look at the live sattelite feed of the storm on the weather channel. I miss my family already. Especially my puppies!!
My horse Frontec, my best friend for a long time, is actually being sold now. Normally this would be a fairly traumatic experience for me. (When Catch sold, i was a total wreck..) But I am surprisingly holding up very well. I have been totally calm about it, mostly because I know it has to happen and so even tho it's sad, I can't argue to keep him because i really dont have time to ride and he is getting older and..anyways i think its a really good deal because he is going to stay in our barn, he wont even move stlals. a girl named jenny who is 28 and blonde and not totally ugly (for a blonde) who i approve of (because she promised not to tell my mom about smoking cigarettes at a party and is generally funny and nice..i think i even invited her to my 20th bday when i saw her the afternoon before the party) So the point is I will still totally get to ride him and see him and pet him and take him out to graze him in all his magnificent glory all the time.
( just in case anyone who reads this forgot how hot Fonzie is...)

He is like a supermodel horse.

He's always #1.

and he is Mr. Personality!
....SO tomarrow i have to try to dress for: the first day of school, tennis, rain, and cold. All at once. I wonder what all the new people in French class will be like! I'm glad I start the day of esay. Even tho I have to be there at 9am.
Sorry for the rambly odd post. Will be smarter, but I'm saving it for later.
Wish me luck!

Yesterday was Super. Took my lil sis and her friend Caitlin in my car to Amoeba in the Haight to see Devandra. Met up with my friend Katherine and Gilles for awesome spots for the show, really close. It was lovely to see Devandra and hear the songs from the new album, Smokey Rolls Down the Mountain, live. It was also great to see all of the interresting and beautiful people at the show. I love the Bay Area. As much as I have fallen in love with L.A. and Hollywood in the last few weeks, i still love the diversity and love that permeates all of the beautiful aesthetics of this area. After the show, i took all the kids into Golden Gate Park to help me get some footage for the Advanced Editing Lab I'm taking at CCA. I had my sister, Helen, falling backwards with her arms spread onto the ground in a couple of locations, shooting from an ariel perspective. It was fun, and funny. Helen is such a great actress, and who knew shed be so good at falling backwards!!! I think it is from all of the gymnastics, that she was able to fall backwards bravely and realistically without hurting herself. I'm going to edit the footage so that it looks like she is falling outside and then cuts to falling onto her bed and then flying back up out of her bed and up outside and then back again...we shot some other things, too. Here are some pictures of me being a cinematographer/director.

you can see the lush foliage we found for her to fall in, with trees to climb up for the arial shot. the footage looks really great!

This was for another shot in which she was just spinning around, but will edited to match/jump cut to spinning indoors.
Getting video footage can be really difficult these days, especially with everyone's increased suspisions and anxieties about suveillance. There are alot of crazies and drug dealers in the park who harassed us a couple of times because, "the drug dealers can't work around here cuz you have that camera out.." etc. I mostly just ignore them, unless them seem really insane and volatile. I kept my cool, and we got the footage i wanted.
Afterwards we had crepes and then saw The Expendable play at the Phoenix. Like I said, it was a good day. I always feel good after capturing footage that looks like i imagined it to!

location: in the slit second

music: In Rainbows
On Solitude.

I lack a chalk soil with tears.
It is a lonely region, I have never spoken of a region so desolate. Where the earth is brim-full of ocean and there is no one, no one save the wind, no one. Only the rain adding to the sea's waters. No one, only the rain growing dizzy over the sea.

Spinning through to eternity,
burried deep in the sands.
Knowing the words sealed light, entered the dead labyrnth, the keys to the submerged bowl swallowed like dimes, time.
